West Coast College hosted it’s in person Annual Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2023 16 and 17th September at the Malmesbury Town Hall for a total of 701 students graduating in four (4) sessions.
West Coast College hosted it’s in person Annual Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2023 16 and 17th September at the Malmesbury Town Hall for a total of 701 students graduating in four (4) sessions.
The college council under the leadership of Interim Chairperson, Ms Babalwa Mtini and the Principal, Mr Mbulawa, extended their salutations to the grandaunts for the successful completion of their academic programmes. “Your hard work has paid off but this is only the beginning of a wonderful new journey”, said Principal, Mr Mbulawa.
All sessions were opened with a scripture reading led by Pastor Cecil Errens in Session 1 & 2 and Reverend Sono in Session 3 and 4.
The guest speaker for session 1 & 2 was Ms Ruth Leukes (Chief Director at WCED); and motivational speakers Mr Elroy Cook in Session 3 and Ms Nodumo Maqetuka in Session 4.
Lecturers and industry partners; came to support and also celebrate the success of graduates, and the ululations, hugs and emotional moments were many as the graduates from NC(V), Occupational programmes crossed the stage congratulated by the Principal whilst the Diplomats and Apprenticeships were capped.

In the NC(V) Level 4 Office Administration programme, the Top Student is Yamkela Kiva from Campus

In the NC(V) Level 4 Hospitality programme, the Top Student is Elmarie Snyman from Malmesbury Campus

In the NC(V) Management Level 4 programme, the Top Student is Vigchaan Henry from Atlantis Campus
•
In the NC(V) Level 4 Education & Development programme, the Top Student is Pelonomi Soul from Vredendal Campus
•
In the NC(V) Engineering & Related Design Level 4 programme, the Top Student is Ashlene August from Vredenburg Campus
•
In the NC(V) Electrical Infrastructure & Construction Level 4 programme, the Top Student is Kimberley Van Nooi from Campus
•
In the NC(V) Primary Health Level 4 programme, the Top Student is Boitumelo Rauland from Vredendal Campus
•
In the NC(V) Level 4 Tourism programme, the Top Student is Hlengiwe Hlatshwayo from Vredenburg Campus
•
In the Diploma Studies Business Management programme, the Top Student is Symone Pillay from Vredenburg Campus

In the Diploma Studies Financial Management programme, the Top Student is Charmaine Esau from Malmesbury Campus

In the Diploma Studies Human Resources Management programme, the Top Student is Kaylin Jansen from Atlantis Campus
•
In the Diploma Studies Management Assistant programme, the Top Student is Anrize Farmer from Vredenburg Campus
•
In the Diploma Studies Public Management programme, the Top Student is Andisiwe Kupiso from Malmesbury Campus
•
In the Diploma Studies Tourism programme, the Top Student is Amelicia Markus from Vredenburg Campus
They all walked away with Certificates of Achievement, prize money sponsored by African Bank and goody bags from Vodacom.
The Overall Top Students in both the National Certificate and National Diploma are based on the student with the best academic achievement overall. This was awarded to the following students:

Hlengiwe Hlatshwayo from the Vredenburg Campus in Tourism Level 4 programme achieved 17 distinctions out of the 21 subjects over the three years. The campus describes the student as a remarkable individual who left a lasting impression on both peers and faculty. She possessed an insatiable curiosity and a genuine thirst for knowledge, which made her standout among her peers. An even though she suffered illness during her studies, she still managed to push try and persevered. In fact, she left such an impression, that she was appointed this year as an Academic Tutor.

Symone Pillay, completed the National Diploma in Business Management from the Vredenburg Campus with 7 distinctions out of the 12 subjects over the three years’ duration. She was a Wholesale and Retail SETA and INSETA bursary recipient who was dedicated, disciplined and determined student throughout her studies and performed well under immense pressure. She completed her practical programme through our partnership with Langebaan Spar.
Both students walked away with prize money sponsored by African Bank, a laptop and cellphone from Cape Book and College Supplies, a goody bag from Vodacom and a Trophy from SAYDBUC Academic Attire.
